Porter expects busy 2010

By tbnewswatch.com

Porter Airlines says it has plans to increase the number of passengers it carries and destinations it flies to out of Toronto’s island airport.

The Toronto Star reports that the airline’s new $50 million terminal will triple Porter’s capacity. The first phase of the new terminal, which was unveiled to media in Toronto Monday, opens to the public March 7.

Porter Airlines began flying out of the Thunder Bay International Airport in June of 2009.

The airline’s local service was expected to be a summer only ordeal, but company officials announced the day they started flying out of this city that they would have year-round services available the area.

Porter Airlines president and CEO Robert Deluce said the airline hopes to carry more than 1.3 million passengers this year – a significant increase from 2009, which saw about 750,000 passengers.

Assignment 1

Hi Andy,

I had a good time meeting you today. We ended without specifying what today's assignment should be. For Friday, please try to complete the rest of section 1 of the sample test. Also, although I understand that my approach might strike you as somewhat unusual, I would like you to take an active role in thinking about how you want to design your ultimate project (e.g. writing a formal proposal on how to improve the TTC for the City of Toronto). Try to articulate any initial ideas into well-developed sentences. If you have to choose between working on the sample test or the articulation of your ideas, do the latter. Take care for now.

Rich
